Evansville Fire District
Our History
The Evansville Fire District was established in 1874 to provide organized fire protection to the city of Evansville and surrounding townships. What began as a small group of dedicated volunteers has grown into a professional department serving thousands of residents.
Over the decades we've expanded to include emergency medical response, technical rescue, hazardous materials awareness, and community education programs.
Today we operate from Evansville Station in Evansville with a fleet of modern apparatus and a dedicated team of volunteer and paid-on-call personnel.
Our Mission
"To protect the lives and property of the residents and visitors of the Evansville Fire District through professional emergency response, fire prevention, and community education."
